In always striving to be the best, you’re now barely able to hold it together. You feel exhausted and like you want to burst into tears at any moment, but you’re also struggling to sit still or relax - terrified that one misstep could unravel everything. So you keep pushing yourself to get it all done perfectly, proving you’ve done everything possible and only then you’ll collapse into bed.
You’re noticing what a toll always striving to be the best version of yourself has started to take on you. And looking for a change.
The reality is that the more you try, the worse things become, but you can’t stop. You start to feel more & more frustrated after each attempt & the vicious cycle begins. With each mistake comes more self-criticism & chastising yourself often stops what you’re doing because it wasn’t perfect enough.

Perfectionism is NOT about “doing your best”- it’s actually an attempt to shelter yourself from criticism, shame, and/or ridicule.
